FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Rutherford County Junior League baseball team jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but could not hold it, falling to Elbert County, Georgia, 10-6 Sunday in the Southeast Regional tournament. With the loss, Forest City was forced to play in an elimination game Monday.

LENOIR — The Rutherford County Swim Team (RCST) completed the 2018 Long Course season with the Western Carolina Swimming Association Conference Championship meet on July 28 at the Lenoir Aquatic Center. The team had 12 swimmers in attendance, with 10 of them qualifying for the finals.
