RUTHERFORDTON — R-S Central High School Principal Phil Rogers and Athletic Director Sam Hooper have named John Faircloth as the new head football coach.
Coach Faircloth comes to R-S Central with extensive coaching experience. Faircloth has served on coaching staffs ranging from Robert Morris University, Colorado State University, and student assistant at Mars Hill University to Dublin City High School and Pender High School. He brings with him nine years of coaching experience at the collegiate level. He played fullback and special teams at Methodist University. His most recent stint was in the capacity of defensive line coach and run-game coordinator at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania. Along with his role as head coach, Faircloth will be teaching physical education at R-S Central.
Faircloth is set to begin work immediately. He will lead a well respected and blossoming program that has developed a considerable momentum over the last two years under the guidance of coach Brad Hutchins. Hutchins leaves the program following a great season that will return many starters.
The R-S Central faculty and staff look forward to partnering with Faircloth, his assistants, and the community en route to a new era of Hilltopper football.
