FOREST CITY — It was a strong year for local high school female golfers as Sara Rothrock from CHASE made it all the way to the NCHSAA State Championships and the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (TJCA) team won the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A Conference Championship.

The Daily Courier’s Female Golfer of the Year is CHASE’s Sara Rothrock. Rothrock had a strong year for CHASE, being named as an all-conference performer and advancing to the NCHSAA 1A/2A State Championships, where she finished tied for 55th. She also finished tied for 19th at the NCHSAA 1A/2A Western Regionals.

Here’s a look at the rest of the all-county team.

Thomas Jefferson Classical AcademyAnnMarie Willis, Anna Tate, Sarah Kate Dobbins and Morgan Spears were all named to the all-county team after leading the Lady Gryphons to a conference championship and a sixth-place finish overall at the NCHSAA 1A/2A Western Regionals.

The Lady Gryphons were the top 1A performer at the Regional Tournament. All four golfers were named to the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A All-Conference team.
