FOREST CITY — Monday’s vaccine clinic, the last one scheduled at McNair Field, was canceled due to the possibility of unsafe weather.

Those scheduled for vaccinations Monday may return to the Health Department, Spindale, for the clinic slated for May 12, 9 a.m. — 12 p.m. Please call the vaccine hotline at 828-223-5326 with questions or concerns. Vaccines are also available at local pharmacies.

Monday’s COVID-19 update reported 27 new coronavirus cases for a cumulative total of 7,243, according to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.

Rutherford’s 14-day positivity rate rose slight again to 6.3%.

Local vaccinations continue to climb with 15,826 residents, or 23.6%, having been fully vaccinated. Those partially vaccinated include 18,540 residents, or 27.7%.

North Carolina’s vaccination rate is trending better with more than 3.17, or 30.2%, having been fully vaccinated. More than 7.1 million doses have been administered across the state.

In the United States, 105 million have been fully vaccinated, or nearly 32%.
