SPINDALE—The Rutherford County Schools (RCS) honored 42 employees who are retiring this year, at a luncheon on Tuesday, May May 23.
The event was held at the Foundation, on the campus of Isothermal Community College.
Rutherford County Board of Education Chairman Phillip Morrow offered remarks of encouragement as their RCS careers come to a close.
Vice Chairman Rick Ficklin and Superintendent David Sutton also addressed the soon-to-be retirees.
The diverse group included teachers, teacher assistants, a principal and assistant principal, counselors, child nutrition workers, bus monitors and office staff.
The retirees are: Shelli Allen, Sherrie Bailey, Denise Barker, Janet Blanton, Crystal Bridges, Shirley Buchanan, Deborah Byers, Sheila Canipe, Frances Clary, Linda Cole, Sherry Curtis, Lynette Dover, Randy Earley, Belinda Evans, Keith Ezell, Laura Gagner, Gina Greene, Ricky Greene Jr., Thomas Greene Jr., Larry Guffey, Ann Gurley, Jeanne Hagan, Angela Harrill, Scott Harrill, Tammie Harrill.
Also, Gladys Hernandez, Amie Honeman, Alysa Jones, Kimberly Jones, Gary Keever, Geraldine Koone, Keeley Laws, Christopher Lovelace, Melissa McKinney, Victoria Norman, KimberlyPeeler, Daniel Smith, Robin Smith, Luann Swink, Karen Taylor, Sherrie Toney, and Robin Waters.
