Burgess, Rhodes exchange wedding vows

Anna Burgess of Forest City and Benjamin Evan Rhodes of Gastonia were married May 3 in Rutherfordton with the Rev. Robert Carnell officiating at the wedding. Ashley Buchanan presented wedding music.

The bride is the daughter of Gregg and Dixie Burgess of Forest City.

The groom’s parents are Tom and Adele Leverett and Tim Rhodes of Toccoa, Ga.

The bride is the granddaughter of Helen Burgess of Henrietta.

The groom’s grandparents are Adele Tullo of Flora City, Fla. and Gloria DeLay of Suwanee, Ga.

The bride was escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father. 

Patti Burgess Cuthbertson and Taylor Burgess attended as maids of honor.

Timothy Rhodes attended as best man. 

Anna is a graduate of Chase High School and a 2008 graduate of Appalachian State University. She is a teacher with Gaston County Schools.

Evan is a graduate of Stephens County High School in Toccoa, Ga. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2010 and an MBA in 2012 from Gardner-Webb University.

He is an account executive with Tandus-Centiva Company in Charlotte.

The couple is at home in Gastonia.
