WEDDING: Cole, Ellenburg wedding vows spoken

Kara Leann Cole of Forest City and Brandon Michael Ellenburg of Union Mills were married March 22 at Florence Baptist Church in Forest City. Dr. Bobby Gantt, pastor, officiated at the four o'clock ceremony. Music was provided by James Henson, vocalist and Timothy Scruggs, organist. 

The bride is the daughter of Dean and Mary Cole of Forest City and the groom is the son of Jimmy and Tammy Ellenburg of Gilkey. 

Kara was escorted to the altar by her father. She wore a soft ivory lace gown adorned with beading and crystals. The bride's elegant, A-line gown featured a sweetheart strapless neckline, empire waist, modified chapel length train, and scalloped hemline. She carried a green and white hand-tied bouquet composed of hydrangeas, viburnums, spider mums, and hypericum berries accented with crystals.

Sarah Callahan of Ellenboro, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Taryn White of Forest City; Melinda Beam of Ellenboro; Breeyln Harmon of Leesville, South Carolina; Kayla Patterson of Columbia, South Carolina; and Beth Roper of Rutherfordton; all friends of the bride.

Attendants wore spring clover chiffon dresses with alternating sweetheart strapless and one-strap necklines. 

They carried a smaller, mostly white, version of the bride's bouquet.

Brandon's father was best man.

Groomsmen were Aaron Ellenburg of Union Mills, brother of the groom; Brandon Cole of Chapel Hill, brother of the bride; Scott Haynes of Rutherfordton, friend of the groom; Ryan Hodge of Shelby; friend of the groom; and Adam Yelton of Rutherfordton, friend of the groom.

Nathan Ellenburg and Jacob Ellenburg of Union Mills, nephews of the groom, were honored as ring bearers.

The flower girls were Montana Kiser of Ellenboro and Melody Long of Rutherfordton, both cousins of the bride. They wore ivory lace and tulle dresses with gold glitter detail.

The guest register attendants were Mandy Smith of Forest City and Jessica Hensley of Union Mills, both cousins of the bride.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of East Rutherford High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of South Carolina at Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She is employed by Morganton Eye Physicians as a Registered Nurse.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of R-S Central High School and a 2005 graduate of Isothermal Community College in Basic Law Enforcement Training. He is employed by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office as a Patrol Corporal.

The reception dinner given by the bride's parents was held in the Life Enrichment Center of the church immediately following the ceremony. Guests were greeted by Jeff and Jennifer Hensley of Union Mills, cousins of the bride. Tables were adorned with white table cloths, clover green organza overlays, and alternating spring and lantern centerpieces.

The wedding was directed by Mrs. Pamela McKeithan of Forest City.

The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's parents at the Forest City Clubhouse. The clubhouse was decorated in a rustic theme with light green table cloths, burlap overlays, cedar wood blocks and lanterns.

The couple is at home in Union Mills after a wedding trip to Grenada in the West Indies.
