Rep. Ross leaving Legislature for Triangle Transit
Five-term Democratic legislator Deborah Ross is leaving the General Assembly to become the general counsel for Triangle Transit.
Triangle Transit officials said in a news release Tuesday that Ross will join the agency June 17. Ross is a House member from Wake County.
Triangle Transit Board of Trustees Chairman Fred N. Day IV says Ross joins the agency at an important as it tries to expand local and regional bus service and begin light rail service. Ross says she's excited by the new opportunity.
She replaces Wib Gulley, who has served as general counsel since March 2004.
