Former NC Rep. Justice elected to GOP leadership
A previously longtime state House member is now the vice chairwoman of the North Carolina Republican Party.
The party's Executive Committee voted over the weekend to elect Carolyn Justice of Pender County to the state GOP's No. 2 elected position.
Justice defeated another former state representative, Glen Bradley, by a more than 3-to-1 margin from the ballots of more than 200 voting committee members who gathered Saturday in Concord.
Justice succeeds Joyce Krawiec of Forsyth County, who stepped down after being appointed to the state Senate in January.
Justice served in the House for 10 years through 2012.
