The Chase Lady Trojans dominated play from the opening tip Thursday night as they began the game on a 28-0 run en route to a 58-10 victory over Challenger.

Chase (2-0) opened the game on a 6-0 run in the first 30 seconds of action.

Kaitlyn Smart had two easy layups to start the contest while Eishla Caban added another transition bucket.

The run continued as the Lady Trojans defense applied full court pressure.

Smart continued her good play with four quick points and Kendra Holcombe cracked the scoreboard with a baseline jumper. By the time the dust settled, Chase led 28-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The pace of the second quarter slowed considerably as the Lady Trojan’s bench got valuable minutes.

The home team scored eight points as four different players netted a field goal. The defense continued to be strong, as Chase led 36-5 at the half.

The Lady Trojans opened the third quarter on a 6-0, capped by a Holcombe old-fashioned three-point play.

The Lady Firebirds answered with a 5-0 run that Jamie Phillips broke with a pair of foul shots and a turnaround jumper to make the tally 46-10 after three quarters.

Smart, Holcombe, and the rest of the Lady Trojans dominated the final period.

Holcombe garnered four points while Smart turned the same trick while Sidney Freeman and Mahasia Washburn closed the scoring for Chase and account for the 58-10 final.
