Harris Speedway drivers dodge the rain

Aug. 12, 2014 @ 04:43 PM

Harris Speedway managed to get ten divisions of racing completed, despite rain all over the area Saturday night.

The last division finished at 11:20 P.M., moments before a steady downpour began.

The Young Guns division headlined the evening, paying $500 to the winner. Jasper Brown set the fastest time in qualifying and chose the outside pole for the twelve-lap feature. John Price led early from the inside before he slipped off in turn four and Brown gained the lead. Price would re-gain the lead later and motor away for the win. Brittnye Evans edged Brown at the line for second, while Coby Lambert finished fourth and Blake Dill finished fifth. The race was red- flagged with a few laps remaining after Christopher Wade rolled over on turn four. Wade was driven to the hospital with an arm injury.
