Dedmon nabs Player of the Year
Thomas Jefferson soccer may not have made a return trip to the state championship game but they still brought home plenty of individual hardware.
Senior forward Anna Dedmon was named the Western Highlands Conference Player of the Year for a second-straight season after netting 34 goals and assisting on 12 more on the season.
Dedmon has been named to the WHC All-Conference after all four of her seasons at TJCA, is expected to earn All-Region honors for a fourth consecutive year and is expected to be named All-State for a third time after earning the honor in her freshman and junior seasons.
Dedmon finished her Gryphons career with 152 goals and 42 assists.
Dedmon was joined on the All-Conference team fellow Gryphons Victoria Bennett and Eleora Albala as well as junior Rachel Tevis.
Bennett, a senior defender and midfielder, manned the middle of the field for head coach Brian Espinoza and the Gryphons and added four goals and an assist to the cause.
Bennett finished her stellar career with 20 goals and seven assists. She was named All-Conference all four years as a Gryphon and is expected to be named All-Region for the fourth-straight season.
Albana, a senior defender, returned to the All-Conference team with two goals and two assists on the season bringing her career totals to 23 and eight.
The senior Gryphons completed their high school careers with an overall record of 61-17-5.
Tevis, a junior forward, earned her first All-Conference nod after scoring nine goals on the season and recording 11 assists.
Tevis currently has 34 career goals and 27 career assists.
