TJCA softball tops Avery, 6-5

Behind a strong complete game from pitcher Breanna Kale, the Thomas Jefferson softball team earned its first conference win in school history Friday night with a 6-5 win over Avery.

Kale tallied nine strikeouts over seven innings of work and was also 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

In the bottom of the seventh, with the score tied 5-5 and the bases loaded, Hailey Crowder was hit by a pitch to score the winning run for the Gryphons.

Ayumi Deyton was 3-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases while A'sia Wilson was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and Isis Wilson and Katie Trammel were each 1-for-4 with a run scored.
