Forest City racked up double-digit hits and held a lead on three different occasions, but Gastonia overcame three errors to claim a 10-7 win Wednesday afternoon is Gastonia.

The Owls (10-14) took a 5-2 lead in the second inning behind a three-run blast from Ty Barkell, but the Grizzlies (9-16) mauled Forest City starter Jake Padgett over 3 2/3 innings scoring nine runs on nine hits. Five walks didn't help Padgett's cause.

Spencer Bryant and Sam Daniel held Gastonia to just one run throughout the remainder of the game but a combination of four different Grizzlies pitchers held the Owls to just two runs in the final seven innings.

The Owls host the Catawba Valley Stars tonight at 7:30 p.m.
