Conference tournaments have ended across the state and the time has come for the state basketball championships.

The boys and girls from both East Rutherford and R-S Central earned spots in this year's tournament.

The Lady Cavaliers (19-7) landed the No. 5 seed in the West bracket and will host the 12-seed, Owen (13-13), Monday night at 6 p.m.

The East Rutherford boys earned the No. 7 seed finishing with a 21-6 record. They'll host 10th-seeded Madison (11-12) after the conclusion of the girls game Monday night at East Rutherford.

A win will put the Cavaliers in a second-round matchup with either Shelby or Bunker Hill Wednesday night.

The Lady Hilltoppers finished the season 16-10, good enough for the No. 9 seed in the 3A West bracket and a trip to tussle with the No. 8 seed Fred T. Foard. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday night.

The ninth-seeded Hilltopper boys will take their 13-13 record on the road to Frankilin (18-8) Monday night for a 7 p.m. tipoff time.
