GWU accepting canned goods for games

Dec. 20, 2012 @ 12:45 PM

The Gardner-Webb Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Gardner-Webb Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) and both the men’s and women’s basketball programs, will be accepting canned goods for admission to both the women’s and men’s basketball games on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 22, in Paul Porter Arena.

The GWU SAAC is collecting canned goods throughout the year as part of its many community outreach programs and will accept donations of all cans at any GWU sporting event.

However, as a special promotion for the basketball doubleheader this Saturday afternoon, the Gardner-Webb Athletics Program will be accepting canned goods as the price of admission into the games.

The price is one canned item for children (ages 12 and under) and three cans for teenagers and adults (ages 13 and up).

The basketball doubleheader will begin with the women’s team taking on North Carolina Central at 2 p.m., while the men will play Spalding at 4:30 p.m.
