Forest City down 8-5 in the eighth

It wasn’t necessarily the start the Forest City Owls were looking for.

After giving up four runs on four hits and a walk in the first inning, the Owls played behind most of the game, trailing Florence 8-5 after seven innings.

The final score was not available at press time.

Despite starting down 4-0, Forest City slowly started to chip away at the RedWolves’ lead when Connor Clancey hit a bases loaded sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first to cut the lead to 4-1.

Clancey continued his showing at the plate with a home run in the third as Forest City picked up runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull even before Florence added a run in the sixth.

In the eighth, Florence picked up two runs on a two-run home run from Jordan Gore.
