I can no longer sit by in dismay about the lack of coverage recently given to Forest City as the #1 worst place to live in NC. Especially given the fact that most all local TV stations covered the headline news at least once or twice during the week. Was the paper too embarrassed to print a headline saying "FOREST CITY VOTED No. 1 WORST CITY IN NC?" If this was newsworthy enough to cover on regional TV, was it not newsworthy enough to cover in the very town that was involved? I failed to ever see a response from the public as well. Does this mean that we are too embarrassed as well and just accept it as fact? "Well, it is Rutherford County!" I've heard that phrase all of my life, and I have used it as well. But now it sickens me that people who have lived and worked and struggled all of their lives to survive in this county can just ignore this study.
Regarding your recent editorial titled “Public school education takes another hit,” I felt compelled to respond.
To the editor: While eating dinner at a local restaurant recently I had finished my meal and asked the waitress for my check.
