Bruce Landen Dover
Mr. Bruce Landen Dover, age 70, of Bostic, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 10, 2013, while being cared for at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
A lifelong truck driver, one of Bruce’s final requests was to let all of his many friends know that he looked forward to seeing them in Heaven.
He is survived by his children, Danny Dover, Donald Dover, Jackie Dover and Wanda Mansfield as well as ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. 
Mr. Dover was preceded in death by his wife, Tildia Sue Dover.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Richard Cole and Rev. Donald Dover officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Jerry Dobbins
Jerry Dobbins, age 59, of Forest City, NC, died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville.
Jerry was born December 5, 1953, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late John Baxter Dobbins and Merle Silvers Dobbins. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War and a past member of the VFW Post 4066 in Shelby, NC. He worked in textiles for over 20 years and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed playing the guitar, riding motorcycles and as an avid reader. 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Ray Dobbins.
Survivors include two sons, Eric Dobbins and Eddie Castle and wife, Rebecca, all of Forest City; one sister, Sandra Byrd and husband, Kenneth of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Robert Dobbins and wife, Joyce of Ellenboro and Boyd Dobbins of Forest City; two half-sisters, Vicky Bates and husband, Charles of Forest City and Louann Greene and husband, Don of Union Mills; five grandchildren, Cody Dobbins, Faith Dobbins, Jadah Dobbins, Celeste Castle, Stephen Williams; one great grandchild, Danica Williams; and six nieces and two nephews.   
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at High Shoal Baptist Cemetery with Reverend John Godfrey officiating with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. There will be no formal visitation.

Elaine Rollins Peterson
Elaine Rollins Peterson, 58, of Homewood, Alabama, died unexpectedly Thursday, February 21, 2013. 
She was the daughter of the late Jethro and Pauline Callahan Rollins of Bostic, NC. Elaine was a class mascot for the Cool Springs High School class of 1959. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Caldwell Community College. She obtained a BS in Education and a MS in Special Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Elaine was known for her compassion, sense of humor, and love, as she worked to improve the lives of special needs children. A member of the Baptist Church of the Covenant, in Birmingham, Elaine served as a Sunday school teacher for adults with special needs; served in the choir; and assisted with multiple community ministries. 
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean R. Hollifield and her brother, Harold W. Rollins. 
Elaine is survived by three sons, Judson Rollins Peterson, Griffin Michael Peterson, Mason Callahan Peterson and his wife, Tanner; one brother, James L. Rollins, and his wife, Carolyn; two sisters, Helen R. Odom and Evelyn R. Owens, and her husband, Harold; eight beloved nieces and nephews; and 8 grand nieces and nephews.

David Bryce Clemmer
David Bryce Clemmer, age 53, of East  Main Street, Forest City, died Monday, March 11, 2013.  
He was born February 21, 1960, in Gaston County to Mary Ann S. Clemmer of Gastonia, NC and the late Daniel Brice Clemmer. He was a mechanical engineer receiving his degree from Western Carolina University. A faithful member of Florence Baptist Church, he was a member of the Choir and was involved in various church activities. Bryce enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity and had a passion for Border Collies including his beloved dogs, Sky, Murphy, and Ann.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers, Marvin S. Clemmer and wife, Mary of Jamesville, NY and Stanhope Lee Clemmer and wife, Kristi of Gastonia; an aunt, Frances Rayfield; as well as his beloved nieces and nephew, Rachel S. Mackessey-Lloyd and husband, Trevor, and their children, Noah and Claire, Kathryn E. Clemmer, Daniel J. Clemmer, Jeanne M. Clemmer, Faith Ann Clemmer, Maria Rimer and Kaitlyn Washington; along with numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday, March 15, 2013, in the Florence Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4:15 p.m. in the Pisgah ARP Cemetery on Linwood Road, Gastonia with Reverend Richard Lewis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 7 until 8:30 Thursday evening in The Chapel of Padgett and King Mortuary. The family will also have a time of visitation following the graveside service at Pisgah ARP Church.
