Troy Lee McFarland
Mr. Troy Lee McFarland, age 60, 0f the Duncan's Creek Community, died Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Henderson Care Center.
He was the son of the late Roy and Ruby DeBrule McFarland. He was a member of Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church and enjoyed woodworking. He retired years ago from Drexel Heritage.
He is survived by his brother, Devone McFarland and his wife, Linda; and his sister, Adrene Greene and her husband, L.V., all of the Duncan's Creek Community; and a niece, Sandy Greene of Durham.
The Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ron Brauer, Rev. Phil Bailey, Pastor Bert Sigmon, and Pastor Bart Shaw will officiate. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Visitation was held from 5 until 7 p.m., Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.

Ernest William Metcalf
FOREST CITY — Mr. Ernest William Metcalf, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2013, while at Hospice House in Forest City. 
Ernest was born in Rutherford County NC on July 4, 1933, and was a son of the late William Roscoe Metcalf and Mary Sue Sisk Metcalf. 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by nine siblings, Glen, Gary, Frank, Richard, Blanche, James, Joyce, Earl and J.Y.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Emily Hooper Metcalf; children, Sam Metcalf, Bill Metcalf, Kimberly Metcalf, David Metcalf, Grant Metcalf; stepchildren, Frankie McMahan, Ethel Vance and Charles Williams; one brother, Jack Metcalf; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; as well as a number of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. Mr. Metcalf was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and will be provided military honors by The Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.  
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Of Rutherford County P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.

Terry Wayne (T W)  Walker
Terry Wayne (T W)  Walker, age 64, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, March 1, 2013, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.
He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a native of Rutherford County. He was the son of the late Rev. Carl P. Walker. T W was a professional hunting and fishing guide and a professional dog trainer. He won the Canadian National Championship for bird dog field trials.
He is  survived by his life companion, Diane; his mother, Modene M. Walker of Rutherfordton, N C; one brother, and his wife, Ricky Walker and Emma of Rutherfordton, NC; step-daughter and her husband, Melanie Head and Rodney of Forest City, NC; three beloved grandchildren, Hunter, Hayden and Skylar Gowan; two beloved nephews and their families, Scott Walker and Marsha K. and children Bailey and Blake and Erik Pinder and Angela and children Addie and Alex.
The funeral service will be at Shiloh Baptist Church at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2013, with Rev. Don Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday, at the church prior to the service. Interment will be at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.
