Stuart Richardson
LAKE LURE – Stuart Wayne Richardson, 77, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, in St. John’s Catholic Church, Tryon.
Memorials may be made to Rose Hill Center, 513 Rose Hill Blvd., Holly, MI 48442. McFarland's Funeral Chapel is serving the Richardson family.
Troy McFarland
DUNCAN'S CREEK — Troy Lee McFarland, 60, died Thursday, February 28, 2013. The Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service.
Dan F. Davis
FOREST CITY — Dan F. Davis, age 82, died Saturday, February 23, 2013. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 1 p.m. at Thompson's Mortuary and Chapel, Inc. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Thompson's Mortuary and Chapel, Inc. is serving the Davis family.
Ernest Henry Cappelmann III
Ernest Henry Cappelmann III (Buddy), 67, formerly of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. 
He was born October 31, 1945, in the first wave of baby boomers nearing the end of WWII. Buddy was born at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC, to Ernest Henry Cappelmann, Jr. and Dorothy Evans Cappelmann. He attended Camden High School, and graduated from Oak Ridge Military School in NC. He also attended Wofford College and served his country in the US Air Force. At a young age he became very involved in swimming and diving and throughout his life enjoyed all water sports. He coached swimming at the Greenville YMCA. Buddy spent many enjoyable hours on his boat and water skiing on Lake Hartwell and Saluda Lake. He loved being outdoors and was always happiest when he was near the water. 
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by daughters, Anne Joyce of Raleigh, NC and Sally Bonazzi of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Wooten, James, Ella and Ainsley; siblings, John Charles Cappelmann of Oriental, NC, James Mark Cappelmann of Sumter, SC and Julie Cappelmann Crum of New Bern, NC; Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Joe Hart of Ferrum, VA; nine nieces and nephews and many cousins. 
Arrangements are by Cremation Society of Charlotte and a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of New Bern, NC. His cousin the Reverend Robert C. Evans will be presiding.

Kenneth Ray Edwards, Jr.
Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Edwards, Jr., age 39, of Ellenboro, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013.  
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Kenneth Ray Edwards. Sr. and Brenda Holland Edwards, and the grandson of John Edwards, all of Ellenboro.  
He was employed by Asplundh Tree Company as an equipment operator and also worked as a crewman with the NC Forestry Service. Kenny was a dedicated member of the Ellenboro Fire Department for 25 years where he currently served as Captain, and he was also a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician with Rutherford County Rescue. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and a friend to many. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Betty Edwards, and David and Mattie Holland.
In addition to his parents and grandfather, those remaining to cherish his memories are his daughter, Harley Elizabeth Edwards of Forest City; his son, Cameron Hunter Edwards of Forest City; a granddaughter, Gracie Diane Edwards; a step-son, William James Tesner of Ellenboro; a brother, Christopher Wayne Edwards of Ellenboro; and a sister Nancy Gail Edwards.
Funeral services will be held at three o' clock in the afternoon Sunday, March 3, 2013, in the Glenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Henderson and Chaplain Richard Hayden officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Fireman's Honors accorded by the Rutherford County Firefighters Honor Guard. Visitation will be from five until eight o' clock Saturday at The Padgett & King Mortuary.

Ethel Ford Godfrey
FOREST CITY — Ethel Ford Godfrey, age 98, of Forest City, died Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Hospice House of Forest City.  
She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late John and Woney Ford.  Ethel was a faithful member of Missionary Wesleyan Church on Doggett Road for over 50 years and was still attending regularly at the the time of her death.
In addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Godfrey; a daughter, Pat Hancock; an infant daughter; her granddaughter, Susan H. Stanfield; her brothers and sisters, Estelle Green, Bertha Godfrey, George Ford, Henry Ford, Irene Davis, Alma Mask, and Jenny McGee.
Survivors include her sons, James E. Godfrey, Jr., Ray Godfrey and wife, Cheryl, and Barry Godfrey all of Forest City; son-in-law, Carl Hancock and wife, Margie of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Dawn Bostic and husband, Randy of Bostic, Kelly Hall and husband, Jeff of Ellenboro, Chuck Godfrey and wife, Jessica of Forest City, Tommy Hancock of Summerville, SC, Steven Hancock of Austin, TX and Greg Hancock and wife, Becky of Ladson, SC; great-grandchildren, John Stanfield, Kyle and Chelsea Ewers, Steven and Danielle Hancock and Caroline and Avery Hall and two great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at two o'clock Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the Missionary Wesleyan Church with Reverend Steve Beam officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 until 2 p.m., prior to the service.

Bonnie Louise Murray Lovelace
ELLENBORO, — Bonnie Louise Murray Lovelace, age 82, of Pinehurst Road, Ellenboro, died Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Hospice of Wendover at Shelby.  
She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Charles Marvin and Edna Henderson Padgett. Louise was a faithful member of Joshua Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her first Husband, Clyde Marshall Murray and her second husband, Evans Lovelace. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Boyd Padgett, Grady Padgett, Eddie Padgett, Lois McFarland and Lucille Amos Waters. She was homemaker and  former employee of Dicey Mills in Shelby
She is survived by her sons, Robbie Murray, Doug Murray, Faron Murray, and Neil Murray; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. There are also two step-sons, Steven Lovelace and Timothy Gene Lovelace, a step-daughter, Joyce Lovelace Foster and five step grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
The funeral service will be held during the Sunday Morning Service, beginning at 10:30 a.m.  at Joshua Baptist Church with Reverend Neil Murray and Reverend Sam Henderson officiating. The body will lie in state in the church from 10 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m., Saturday evening at Joshua Baptist Church.
