Lorene Butler
ELLENBORO — Lorene Butler, age 86, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013. A Graveside Service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, at Walls Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
Terry Lee "P.Y." Tate
Terry Lee "P.Y." Tate, age 62 of Forest City died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by The Padgett and King Mortuary.
Arthur R. Tucker
VIRGINIA — Arthur R. Tucker, 66, formerly of Forest City, died on February 20, 2013, from a sudden illness.  
Originally from Maine and then New Hampshire, he was a resident of Forest City before moving to  Virginia. He was an avid motorcyclist, and a regular volunteer with numerous charities. He loved life, adored his family, and befriended everyone he met. 
He is survived by his son, Andy Tucker, of Virginia; a brother, Dale Tucker; and sisters, Bonita Evers and Marilyn Collins; stepdaughters, Janet Mercier, Kristin Jackson, Beth Duhamel and Jamie Reed, all of New Hampshire, and Donna Ojala of North Carolina; grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, and Austin 
Tucker of Virginia, Adam Carron, Cory and Matt Mercier, Danielle Croteau, and Dustin Rockwood, all of New Hampshire and Michelle and Eric Riberdy of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Isabelle, Delaney, Mackensie, Michaela and Taylor, all of New Hampshire. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, his parents, Ralph and Elsie, a sister, Arline Drinkwater, and great grandson, Jacob Logan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Alice Roberts Baxter
FOREST CITY — Mrs. Alice Roberts Baxter, age 96, of Forest City, died Thursday, February 21, 2013. 
She was a native of Rutherford County and a daughter of the late Monroe and Amy McEntire. She retired from Cool Springs School. 
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, at 1 p.m. at New Bethel AME Zion Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  
Thompson's Mortuary and Chapel, Inc. is serving the family.
Bobbie B. King
Bobbie B. King, age 88, of 518 Old US 221, Rutherfordton, formerly of Spindale, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Oak Grove Health Care. 
Bobbie was a native of Louisiana, a graduate of Appalachian State University receiving her bachelor and master’s degrees, owner of King Bookkeeping and Tax Service, attended Southern Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was a proud breast cancer survivor. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack King; parents Mose Cliffton Stevenson and Bessie Loretta Irvin Stevenson; and son Bill King.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Darlene King and Kellie Parker and husband, Terry, all of Rutherfordton; sons, Morris Stevenson of Spindale, Kerry  and wife, Clara King of Gaffney, Keith King of Bostic, Sammy King of Daytona, Fl.; grandchildren, Jason Comar, Jamie Comar Metcalf, Patrick Wilson, Charlie Parker, Natalie Parker, Austin Parker, Blake Parker, Lisa Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Pedro Watkins, Lee King, Benji King, Mary Ruth King, Kristie King Shaffer, Jennifer King Greene, Jacqie King, Samantha King Beam, Brandon Thompson and Ryan Thompson; and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, February 28, at Southern Baptist Church with Rev. John Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Mrs. King will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Crowe’s Funeral Home.

Allen Dean Caldewll, Sr.
FOREST CITY  – Allen Dean Caldewll, Sr., “Sundrop”, 72, of Big Island Road, Forest City, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013. 
A native of Rowan County, he was born on September 11, 1940. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Aleander and Lilly Ethel Morris Caldwell; a brother, Bobby Jack Caldwell; one grandson, Robert Allen Shea.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 45 years, Doris Campbell Caldwell; one son, Allen Dean Caldwell, Jr., and wife, Amy of Forest City; three daughters, Nancy Juanita Caldwell of Forest City, Rose Caldwell Lee and husband, Frank, and Rita Ann Caldwell of Spindale; honorary son and daughters, Tom and Cathy Kozlowski; ten grandchildren, Jessica Caldwell, Jacob Alexander wife, Kesha, Kati Alexander, Rebecca Johnston, Brian Johnston, Wesley Alexander, Isaac Caldwell, Matthew Maze, Sissy Cox, and Mark Cox; honorary grandsons, Rob and Dave Kozlowski; seven great-grandchidlren, Phil, Johnny, Graham, Maddison, Mikah, Marilyn and Aubrey.
Allen spent many years working with Spindale Mills where he retired after becoming disabled in 1998. He was of the Baptist faith and a firm and faithful believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, he adored all “his” kids. He treated everybody the same, no matter what. He never met a stranger and called everybody darling. He opened his heart and home to anyone in need. This lil’ man will be dearly missed by so many people, but we all know that one day we will see him again.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 01, 2013, at A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Thurston Green and Rev. Ted Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 until  8:30 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.

Danny Lee Wray
BOSTIC — Our Dad, brother and husband died February 24, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, after several years of health issues.
He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Donna; two sons, Daniel and Tyler Wray; his brother, Ronald Wray and previous sister in law, Janet Wray Maddox; also uncle Kenneth Laws and wife, Crystal; cousin, Mike and Debbie Taylor; nephew, Johnny Wray and his wife, Crystal; Tyler's fiancee Stephanie Lynn and Danny's greatest new love, his precious granddaughter, Mallory Wray, "the little munchkin," and many other friends and loved ones. Also our Salem Church Family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Wray, Jr. and his mother, Patricia Mathis Carey; a brother, Roy Wray; his grandparents, Carl and Lovina Wray, and aunt Betty Laws.
Danny was a simple man who loved to fish and spent many hours in the Gulf of Mexico with brothers, friends and sons. "Cracker" was a jack of all trades who could fix anything electrical or mechanical. He was a specialist on all aspects relating to a car or truck. We loved him dearly and will miss him so much.
The family is planning a Memorial Service to be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, at Salem United Methodist Church. A time of visitation will be held from 6 until 7 p.m., Thursday, in the Salem UMC Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Salem UMC, PO Box 220, Bostic, NC 28018.
