RUTHERFORD COUNTY —
SHELBY — Marilyn Sailors Hubbard, 72, died on Monday, February 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Goode’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28152. McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the Hubbard family.
SHELBY — Kisha Twitty Hardy, age 40, died Monday, February 18, 2013. The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Bethel AME Zion Church in Forest City. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Thompson's Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
FOREST CITY - Louise C. Holland, age 93, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, at Florence Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the family.
Charles Greene, Sr.
MOORESBORO — Charles Russell Greene, Sr., age 63, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013. A time of remembrance is planned for a later date. The family will receive friends at 6555 Highway 221A, Mooresboro for the next several days. Harrrelson Funeral Home and Cremation Services is caring for the family.
Dorothy Everhart Hurley
Dorothy (Dot) Everhart Hurley, age 83, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Monday, February 18, 2013.
Mrs. Hurley was born in Davidson County on November 6, 1929, to the late Harvey and Minnie Lee Everhart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by and her husband of 45 years, Reverend Robin W. Hurley and a brother, Paul Everhart.
Prior to his death in 1992, she was active in her husband’s ministry while serving United Methodist
Churches in the Western North Carolina Conference. Mrs. Hurley attended high school in Troy NC and furthered her education in Christian Education at Pfeiffer University. In addition to being a talented homemaker and lovingly caring for her family, she touched the lives of many elementary school children as a teacher’s assistant. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church
where she enjoyed service opportunities and special friendships within the Trinity Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Hurley is survived by two daughters, Lynne Berry and husband, Rev. Bill Berry of the home, and Robin Davis and husband, Michael of Ellenboro; sister, Rose Thompson; brother, Leslie Everhart; grandchildren, Rev. Daniel Harrington and Maria, Aaron Davis and Sheena, Nathan Davis and Ashley; six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem with the Rev. Dr. Mark Key and Rev. Dr. Randy Waugh officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Ruth Henson Young
Ruth Henson Young, age 89, of Marion, NC, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Sunrise Rehabilitation and Care in Nebo.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Simpson and Jimmie Lee Hill Henson. Ruth was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and being active
in the women's groups at church. She loved flower gardening.
She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Gallion of Marion; one son, Robert Young Jr. of Rutherfordton; one sister, Mary Collins of Chesnee, SC; one brother, Glen Henson of Vienna, WV; five Grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2013, with Rev. Don Crawford officiating.
