RUTHERFORD COUNTY —
ELLENBORO — Harold “Billy” Williams, age 62, died Sunday, January 27, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the Williams Family.
Betty Vickers Smith
Betty Vickers Smith, age 65, of Old Caroleen Road, Forest City, NC, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at her residence.
Betty was born March 27, 1947, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late Pat Vickers and Louise McFalls Vickers. She was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1965 and worked in the textile industry most of her life, having worked for Burlington Industries and Cone-Jacquard. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, crocheting and cooking. She was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Hicks; one brother, Ricky Vickers and two sisters, Barbara Fowler and Brenda Buckner.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Don Smith; one daughter, Candice Little of Caroleen; one step-daughter, Deborah Bowen and husband, Jimmy of Rutherfordton; two step-sons, Jeffrey Smith of Spindale and Phillip Smith and wife, Cindy of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Charles Vickers and wife, Judy of Caroleen and Roger Vickers of Henrietta; six grandchildren, Burton Joshua Little, Jordan Hicks, Nicole Bowen, Tyler Smith, Shelton Smith and Wesley Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Haley Smith, Kaley Smith, Jerry Charles Jenkins IV and Travis Smith.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the Cool Springs Cemetery with Chaplain Hattie Williams officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at the cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Rutherford County for their compassionate care and kindness during Betty’s illness.

Nellie Dimsdale Zito, age 93, of Rutherfordton died Monday, January 28, 2013, at the Oakland Living Center in Rutherfordton.
She was a native of Polk County NC and was the widow of William James Zito. Nellie was a member
of First UMC of Rutherfordton. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Z. Martin and husband, Steve of Forest City, Michele Z. McKinney and husband, Chris of Spartanburg, SC; one son, William Zito of Las Vegas, NV; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013, at First United Methodist Church of Rutherfordton with Rev. Jack Knospel officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, prior to the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakland Living Center; 704 Poors Ford Road;
Rutherfordton NC 28139.

Elizabeth “Lib” Millwood Waters
FOREST CITY - Elizabeth “Lib” Millwood Waters, 87, of Tuxedo Court, Forest City, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, she was born on August 07, 1925, a daughter of the late Grady Lee Millwood, Sr., and Reba Rinehart Millwood. She was a 1942 graduate of Tri High School; she was also a CNA and retired from Fair Haven Home in Bostic. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Grady Lee Millwood, Jr. and one daughter, Janice Marie Waters.
She is survived by three sons, Jimmy Waters and wife, Regina of Smithfield, VA, Douglas Waters of Forest City, and Donnie Waters and wife, Bonnie of Forest City; three daughters, Elaine Hamrick of Ellenboro, Brenda Davis and husband, Leslie of Shiloh, and Linda Luckadoo and husband, Danny of Cliffside; her grandchildren, Ferrell Hamrick, Brandon Waters, Kathy Ross, Michelle Clement, Marcia Waters, Angela Harwanko, and Amy Murray; her great grandchildren, Trent Waters, Tripp and Tucker Hamrick, Evensen Ross, Billy Mac Clement, Shrena Suttles, Audri Murray and Benjamin Harwanko; her great-great grandchild, Serienta Suttles.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 01, 2013, at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Caroleen-Avondale-Henrietta Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Rutherford Regional Medical Center and Hospice of Rutherford County for the excellent care that they gave to Lib and her family over the past several days.
