Deborah B. Kiser

FOREST CITY— Deborah B. Kiser, age 53, of Forest City, died Monday, April 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Building 1, Asheville, NC 28801. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.

 

Jack Goforth

CLIFFSIDE— Jack Briscoe Goforth, age 56, of Cliffside, died Monday, April 14, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cliffside Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary. Memorial donations are suggested to Cliffside Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 336, Cliffside, NC 28024 or Chase Baptist Church Building Fund, 1725 Harris-Henrietta Road, Forest City, NC 28043. Ruby Alamilla

UNION MILLS— Ruby Angel Alamilla, age 46, of Union Mills, died Monday, April 14, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at The Community Worship Center on Church Street in Spindale. Crowe's Mortuary and Crematory is serving the family.

 

 

 

 

Roger Dale Taylor

Roger Dale Taylor, age 59, of Rutherfordton died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center.  A native of Rutherford County he was the son of the late Sam E. Taylor Sr. and Margie Taylor.  Roger was an avid train and history buff and had worked at Aeroquip.  He was a loving Christian and a friend to all.  He was preceded in death by a sister Annette Fisher.  

He is survived by three Sisters, Dorothy Scott of Gilkey, Sandra Brock of Rutherfordton and Donna Hudson of Cliffside; three brothers, William T. Taylor of Gilkey, Sam Ezell Taylor, Jr. of  Bostic and Michael Ray Taylor of  Morganton and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 17, 2014 at McMahan's Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Nelon and Rev. Bill Alley officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County P.O. Deborah B. Kiser 

Deborah B. Kiser, age 53, of Turner Street, Forest City, NC, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Born February 17, 1961 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Odell Blanton and Maggie Silver Blanton. She worked as a security officer for North Carolina Private Protective Services for several years and was a member of the Holy Ground Community Church in Forest City. Deborah loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-seven years, Clarence Kiser; brother, Jerry Blanton and wife, Shelley of Harris and aunt, Hazel Silver of Marion. She is also survived by niece, Kara Sims and two nephews, Lucas Blanton and Frankie Rose.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Edward Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Ruby Angel Alamilla 

Ruby Angel Alamilla, 46, of Union Mills, NC passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Hospice of Rutherford County. She was born in DeSoto Fl, to the late Angelo and Rosa Lee Nunez. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Salomon “Sam” Alamilla Martinez, Children; Angelo Nunez, Edgar Melendez, Cassandra Alamilla, Alec Alamilla, and Laura Melendez, Sisters; Rosey Conner and Rebecca Rodriguez, Brothers; Raymond Nunez and Jerry Bailey and Six Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6PM on Friday, April 18, 2014 at The Community Worship Center on Church Street in Spindale with Rev. Bill Alley officiating.

Jean Laurelle Ermatinger 

Jean Laurelle Ermatinger, former lifelong resident of Webster & Fairport NY peacefully died on Sunday April 13th, 2014 in Rutherfordton, NC after suffering a long term illness.

Predeceased by her parents, John and Georgette Ermatinger, Laurie is survived by her sisters Renee DesRosiers and Cheri Copie (Gary), nieces, nephews, dear cousin, Mary Faye and incredible friends including Kathy & George Drant who cared for her until the end.

She attended Cazenovia and Curry colleges and used her education to start several entrepreneurial businesses in her lifetime. Laurie lived in NY until 2012 when she moved to NC where she met a loving community of friends.

Jack Briscoe Goforth

Jack Briscoe Goforth, 56, of Hill Top Drive, Cliffside, died on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on Friday, December 27, 1957, a son of the late Mal Briscoe and Rosa Lee Barnes Goforth. He worked for Cone Mills Corporation - Cliffside Plant and was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. Jack also loved to go to flea markets.

He is survived by his brothers, Roy Lee Goforth and wife Maxine of Cliffside and Jimmy Goforth and wife Linda of Forest City; two nieces, Kim Goforth and Teresa Cranfill and husband Terry; one nephew, Jamie Goforth and wife Cindy; 2 great nephews and 1 great niece who he thought a lot of.

A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Cliffside Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Cantrell and Rev. Scott Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church sanctuary.
