Kevin Lee Cole
Kevin Lee Cole, age 21, of Weatherstone Drive, Forest City, NC, died Friday, December 14, 2012, in Mooresboro, NC.  Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Harrelson Funeral Home.
 
Susan M. Roach
Susan M. Roach, age 65, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at her residence.
She was the daughter of the late Francis Stewart and the late Ellen Lowe Stewart. Susan was a former resident of San Jose, California.
She is survived by her husband: Anthony K. Roach; one son, Eugene Campbell and his wife Kimberly; one sister, Deborah Connolly; one brother, Joe Stewart; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. 
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, N.C. 28043.

Mary Rachel Greene Mathis                                       
ELLENBORO — Mary Rachel Greene Mathis, 69, of Short Road, Ellenboro, died on Saturday, December 15, 2012. 
A native of Rutherford County, she was born on December 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Max Melvin and Minnie Bell Sheppard Greene. She was retired from Stonecutter Mills and was a member of Heaven Bound Baptist Church, Ellenboro.
She is survived by her brothers, James Samuel Greene of Ellenboro, Larry Greene and wife Brenda of Mooresboro, and Clyde Greene and wife Faye of Cliffside; her sisters, Hattie Banning of Mooresboro, Pat Conner and husband Zeb of Mooresboro, and Shirley Humphries and husband Jerry of Shelby; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Bowens officiating. The family will greet friends and family following the service.

Z.E. "Bill" Dobbins, Jr.
Z.E. "Bill" Dobbins, Jr, age 84, of Crestview Street, Rutherfordton, North Carolina, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Hospice House of Forest City.  
Bill was born June 26, 1928, in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Z.E. Dobbins, Sr. and Oveda S. Dobbins. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Spindale where he was a Deacon and had served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, and a former Sunday School Teacher. Bill was a graduate of R-S Central High School and earned his undergraduate degree from Wofford College. He then attended Appalachian State University where he received both his Masters Degree and his Advanced Degree in education. He was a lifelong educator and served as Assistant Principal and Principal at R-S Central High School, and was also Principal at Oakland Elementary and Proctor Elementary Schools as well as Director Of the Middle Grades Program for the Rutherford County Schools. Bill retired as Assistant Administrator of Personnel for the Rutherford County Schools. He also served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Eunice Harmon Dobbins of the home and a sister, Margaret Dobbins Tate of Florence, SC. There are also a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as his extended family. 
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Dr. Robert Toney and Mr. Sam Metcalf officiating. Interment will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service at the mortuary.

Carrie Davis Hollifield
Carrie Davis Hollifield, age 97, of Neal Street, Forest City, North Carolina, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.  
She was born March 28,1915, in McDowell County and was a daughter of the late William Calvin and Arrie Williams Davis and was a lifelong Baptist. 
Carrie was the widow of the late Reverend Creston A. Hollifield, Sr. and was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Sue Davis as well as brothers, J.C. Davis, Worth Davis, Clyde Davis and Charles Davis and a grandson, Creston A. "Chris" Hollifield, III.
Survivors include a son, Creston A. "Sonny" Hollifield, Jr. and wife Vera of Boiling Springs, SC, a sister, Dorothy Davis of Forest City. There are also two grandchildren, Summer and Stacy as well as two great-grandchildren. There are also a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in The Padgett & King Chapel with Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from ten until eleven o'clock prior to the service at the mortuary.
