Barbara T. Pressley
ASHEVILLE — Barbara T. Pressley, age 75, died Monday, November 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel, Asheville NC. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family at WNC State Veteran's Cemetery, Black Mountain. 
 
Ailene Flynn Wilkerson
Ailene Flynn Wilkerson, age 74, of Nebo, NC, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Hospice of Rutherford County with her family by her side.
She was born June 5, 1939, to the late Mr. Alonzo Flynn and Mrs. Maggie Noblitt Flynn of Rutherford County, NC. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her  husband, Mr. Cecil Wilkerson; and son, Mr. Nelson Wilkerson. 
Mrs. Wilkerson was well known for her love, dedication and passion of cooking for her family. 
Surviving Mrs. Wilkerson are sons, James Daniel Wilkerson and wife, Debi of Nebo, NC, and Bruce Adam Wilkerson and wife, Rhonda of St. Marys, GA; her daughter-in- law Mrs. Jo Anne Wilkerson; and a brother, Mr. Paul Flynn of Cleveland, GA; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Boone of Rutherfordton, NC, Mrs. Wanda Greene of Cliffside, NC,  Mrs. Nettie Blackwell and Mrs. Opal Pittman both of Fort Mill, SC; and three grandchildren, Brandon Wilkerson and wife, Rhonda, Grace and Edward Wilkerson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilkerson will be conducted on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 3 PM at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev’s Jimmy Upton and Bill Warren officiating. Visitiation will be 2 hours prior to the services, at the church from 1 until 3 PM. Burial will follow the services at the church cemetery.
Flowers are welcomed and appreciated, however, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, 374 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC  28403.

Max Gantt Beam
Max Gantt Beam, age 89, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
He was the son of the late J. Luther Beam and the late Lucretia Gantt Beam. He was a native of Gaston County. Max was a member of Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church and served as a church deacon. He received his college education at Western Carolina University and Appalachian State University. Max taught school and coached at Mt. Holly High School, Rockingham High School and R S Central High School and Crest High School. He was a veteran of WW II and a member of the 113th USNR Seabee. He was a member of Rutherfordton Kiwanis Club. 
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters; and a daughter, Anna B. Hendrick in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine K. Beam; one daughter, Lucretia B. Ellis and her husband, David of Bethlehem, PA; one son, Mike Beam, Rutherfordton, NC; and one grandson, John Ellis.
The Memorial service will be at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2013 with Reverend Dr. Don Scofield officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., Friday, at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P O Box 1133, Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
