Roger David Ledford

Roger David Ledford, age 61, of Forest City, died Jan.1, 2013, at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are suggested to Grace of God Rescue Mission, PO Box 212, Forest City, NC 2804.

 

Marlene Robbins

Marlene Robbins, age 78, of Rutherfordton, died Jan.1, 2013 at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.  Holly Springs Baptist Church. The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today  at Holly Springs Baptist Church.

Crowe's Mortuary is assisting the family.

 

Martha Ann Gilbert

Martha Ann Gilbert, 60, of Rutherfordton, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1013 at her home.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

 

Nelson Hampton, Sr.

Nelson Hampton, Sr., 75, of Forest City, departed this earth on  Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.

He was born on August 3, 1937 to the late Paul and Mary Hampton.

A long time member of New Bethel Independent Church, he was the owner of Nelson Hampton Clean-Up Shop.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted wife, Nellie Hampton of the home. He leaves his children, Jimmy Ray Hampton, Deborah Lowrance and Gary; Nelson Hampton, Jr. and Ruthie all of Forest City, North Carolina; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Moman of Detroit, Michigan; Mae Frances Hamilton of Riverside, California; Patricia Myers of Forest City, North Carolina; Ann Proctor and Robert of Forest City; brothers, Rudy Hampton of Forest City, North Carolina; five deceased brothers, Charles, Bill Max, Robert and James; one aunt,Beulina Hill; and a special cousin, Jimmy Miller; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Special thanks to the Carolina home Care.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. at New Bethel Independent Baptist Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

James Eddie Hill

James Eddie Hill, 59, of NC Highway 120, Cliffside, died on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Cleveland County, he was born on December 27, 1953, a son of the late James Hill and Betty Pearson Hill. He was employed as a Supervisor at Cone Mill Corporation - Jacquard Plant. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Methodist Church. He was a member of the Buggies Gone Wild Forum, was a golf cart enthusiast and loved spending time at Ocean Lakes Family Campground, loved his grandchildren, and their baseball games.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Thomas Hill; one daughter, Heather Hill Pavone and husband Patrick of Asheville; one sister, Wanda Vickers and husband Ricky of Cliffside; one brother, Keith Hill of Clarksville, TN; two grandchildren, Jackson and Baylor Pavone.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 03, 2013 at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Morehead officiating. Burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.

Roger David Ledford

Roger David Ledford, age 61, of Forest City, NC, died January 1, 2013 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.

Roger was born June 22, 1951 in Cleveland County, NC to the late J.C. Ledford and Margaret Campbell Ledford.  He worked for Diversco Industries for over 30 years and was a member of Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church. He was had a passion for the guitar and was a singer/songwriter.  Beyond his enjoyment of music was his love for the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Joel David Ledford and a sister, Barbara Putnam Winn.

Left to cherish his memory are two sons, Chris Ledford of Shelby, SC and Larry Ledford and wife, Kim of Ellenboro; Gladys Ledford and daughter, Amber Michelle Ledford of the home; three sisters, Patricia Hudson and husband, Kenneth of Lawndale, NC, Betty Mason of Ellenboro and Joyce Griffin and husband, Scott of Boiling Springs, NC.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren; special friends, Scott Griffin, Rein Hollifield, Wayne Hill, and Wayne Toney and many nieces and nephews.    

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wayne Toney officiating.  Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
