BOSTIC — Rosa Lee Wynn Mize, 78, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday,  at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043. McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service is serving the Mize Family.
 
Bertha Miller
BOSTIC — Bertha Belle Cochran Miller, 94, died Friday, July 5, 2013. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, at First Baptist Church of Bostic. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m., Sunday at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service, and at other times the family will gather at the residence at 2809 Piney Mountain Church Road, Bostic.

Frances “Jinx” Carpenter
Frances “Jinx” Carpenter, age 89, of Rutherfordton, died July 4, 2013, at her home while under Hospice care. 
A native of Fairmont, IN, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth Yell Keesling. Frances was a retired letter carrier and a WWII US Marine veteran. She delivered Meals on Wheels and taught basket making at the Senior Center. In 2005 she was honored as the oldest female Marine in Rutherford County.
She is survived by five sons, Forest Carpenter and Pamela, Bruce Carpenter and Donna, Scott Carpenter, Grady Paul Carpenter and Christine, Ward Carpenter and Lisa; two daughters, Molly Carpenter and Jami Ruppe and Dennis; eight grandchildren, Forest Carpenter Jr. and Kim, Caitlyn Carpenter, Thaddeus Carpenter, Matthis Carpenter and Olga, Melissa Faye Carpenter, Philip Carpenter and Liz, Bruce Carpenter Jr. and Christina; Sister Bernadette; and eight great grandchildren. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Armand Carpenter and Joseph Mark Carpenter.
No services are planned at this time.

Margaret Pentaleri
Margaret Ann Pentaleri, age 76, of Lake Lure, died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Hospice House. 
A native of Vestal, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Rodeffer Westfall. She was a retired industrial engineer, a member of Fairfield Mountains Chapel, and served on the Hospice Board of Directors.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Alan Pentaleri of the home; daughter, Karen Black and husband, Rob of Dingmans Ferry, PA; sons, Alan Pentaleri and wife, Kim of Boonton Township, NJ and Dr. Michael Pentaleri and wife, Sharon of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren; and one brother, James Westfall of Vestal, NY.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 6, at Fairfield Mountains Chapel with Rev. Everett Chapman officiating. A reception will follow the service.

Randy D. Allen
Randy D. Allen, age 67, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at his residence in Rutherfordton, NC.
He was the son of the late Violet Avis Allen. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Randy was a U S Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from PPG Industries of Shelby after 27-1/2 years of service. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a generous man. He was a man who loved the Lord. 
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hensley Allen; three daughters, Christine Duncan and her husband, Rev. Shane Duncan of Brevard, NC, Rachelle Greene and her husband, Tim of Rutherfordton, NC, and Kim Henson and her husband, Donnie of Rutherfordton, NC; five sisters, Brenda Richards, Sandra Hartley, Thersa Holtz, Annette Bacca, and Rene Willis; four Brothers, Larry Walker, Steve Walker, Mike Walker, and Keith Walker; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Jared and Joseph Duncan, Christian, Shelby, Caroline and Savanna Greene and Hunter and Will Henson; and three great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church sanctuary. The funeral service will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2013, with Rev. William Swink, Rev. Ron Cooper and Rev. Shane Duncan officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. Rosa Lee Wynn Mize
BOSTIC — Rosa Lee Wynn Mize, 78, of Fair Haven Drive, Bostic, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at The SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. 
A native of Union County, SC, she was born April 9, 1935, a daughter of the late Jake Willis and Maybelle Davis Wynn. She was a retired textile worker and was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed all types of crafts. 
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy Mize; three sons, Charles Leroy Mize Jr., Jerry Wayne Mize, and Davie Lee Mize; two daughters, Margaret Elizabeth Bradley, Annette Beth Mize; one grandchild, Adrian Scott Hamrick; two brothers, Jack Wills Wynn, Jr., and Everette Gene Wynn.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Bostic and husband, Johnny of Cliffside; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013, at The A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joey Cantrell officiating. Burial will follow in Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
