Jerry Thompson
CAROLEEN — Jerry Wayne Thompson, age 67, died Monday, July 1, 2013. No formal services are planned. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the family of Mr. Thompson.
 
Major Crawford
GASTONIA — Major Crawford, 69, died Monday, July 1, 2013. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Costner Funeral Home in Gastonia.
 
Zeb Ashley Lowery
COLUMBUS — Zeb Ashley Lowery passed away on July 1, 2013.  
He was a long time resident of Forest City, NC, and moved to Tryon Estates, Columbus, NC, in 2006. Zeb was born in Pacolet Mills, SC, the son of Charles F. Lowery and Grace Wells Lowery Cook. He was married to Helyn Goode Lowery. Zeb was in the US Navy, a Graduate of Gardner-Webb University, Vanderbilt University and University of Georgia. He was a coach and teacher at Springfield High School and Roebuck High School in SC. He originated the Guidance and Counseling program in the Rutherford County Schools where he retired. He attended First Presbyterian Church of Forest City. Zeb was an ardent golfer, enjoyed working in his yard, the neighbors on Owens Drive and helping older citizens and young people.
Zeb is survived by one daughter, Jody L. Ledford and companion, Doug Biggerstaff, of Ellenboro; grandson, Jason W. Ledford, Cherryville; brother, Charles Lowery of Spartanburg; sister-in-law, Fern Porter, Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at eleven o'clock Friday, July 5, 2013, in the Oak Grove Methodist Church with Pastor David Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Cool Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2013, from 10:15 – 11 a.m., prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church. 
Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, NC 28722.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Tryon Estates, Willowbrooke Lane and Hospice for all of their love and care.

Jerry Wayne Thompson 
Jerry Wayne Thompson, age 67, of Boss Moore Road, Caroleen, NC, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Jerry was born July 3, 1945, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late Arthur Lawrence Thompson and Hester Mae Radford Thompson. He worked for John H. Montgomery Textile Company most of his life and was known has a hard worker. He enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Brenda Scoggins Thompson three sons, Gary Wayne Thompson of Forest City, Christopher Curtis Kite and Johnny Forrest Kite, both of Caroleen; one daughter, LaTrail Thompson Poirier of Caroleen; one sister, Margaret Thompson Beaver of Burnsville; one brother, Bob Thompson of Arizona. He is also survived by eight grandchildren who includes a granddaughter, Kabrina E. Kite of the home; one niece Donna Walker and husband, Roger of Caroleen, who were always there to help.
No formal services are planned.
