FOREST CITY — Matthew Scott Lail, 19, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, at Salem United Methodist Church, Bostic. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service. FOREST CITY — Kim Bright, age 43, died Monday, May 13, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Crestview Baptist Church. Johnny Alan Warren
Johnny Alan Warren, age 52, of Lake Lure, died Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his residence. A native of Henderson County, he was the son of Johnny Creighton and Ellen Inez Sims Warren. He was a boat motor mechanic and US Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Morris Warren.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Clay and wife, Jennifer, and Cody Warren; sisters, Inez Wilson, Sylvia Warren, Lora Lyda, and Jessica Wills; brother, Alvin Warren; grandchildren, Spencer and Max Warren.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at 161 Yonders Way, Lake Lure, with Rev. William Swink officiating. Military Honors provided by Rutherford County Honor Guard. A meal will be served immediately following the service for all those in attendance. Please bring a covered dish.

Jacqueline DeLorenzo
Jacqueline DeLorenzo of Rutherfordton NC passed away on May 13 at Hospice House in Forest City NC. Jacque was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Rutherfordton. She is survived by Michael, her loving husband of over 60 years, her daughters Dee Ullrich of Rutherfordton, Robin DeLorenzo of Honesdale PA, Lee Pfadenhauer of Old Westbury NY and son Michael of Wantaugh NY also her 12 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. During Jacque’s busy lifetime she was a visiting nurse, an active worker with The Long Island Sunrisers Drum and Bugle Corp and was also a published author of a book of Children’s Christmas stories titled “Jacque’s Tales”. She was a great wife, wonderful mother and Grandmother and will be missed by all. There will be a Memorial service at St. Francis Episcopal Church on Main St. Rutherfordton at 10AM Monday May 20th. In lieu of flowers you may send a donation in her name to Hospice of Rutherford County POB 336 Forest City NC or The Grace of God Rescue Mission POB 212 Forest City NC.

Madeline R. Mitchell
Madeline R. Mitchell, age 78, of Rutherfordton, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at Pardee Memorial Hospital in Hendersonville. 
A native of New York, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Elsie Case. She was a member of the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained and current
serving Elder, was a Circle leader at the church and also a leader of the Presbyterian Women. Madeline was the innkeeper at the historic West Dover Inn in Vermont from 1984 to 1995.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald Mitchell; two sons, Douglas Mitchell and wife, Dolores of  Williamsville, NY, Glenn Mitchell of  Adams Center, NY; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Gregory Mitchell; one sister, Audrey Lichtwald of Sayville, NY.
A memorial service will be held at Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 18, 2013, with Rev. Dr. Don Scofield officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service.

Kim Bright
Kim Bright, age 43, of Forest City, NC, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at her residence.
Kim was born October 10, 1969, in Rutherford County, NC. She was a graduate of East High School, class of 1988, and worked as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed shopping and especially spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Doris Buff Hill and Bryson Buff; paternal grandparents, Lloyd Vance Silver, Sr. and Anace Silver; and one aunt, Renee Aldredge.
Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Scott Bright; one son, Dillon Bright; one daughter, Macey Bright, both of the home; father, Lloyd Vance Silver and wife, Kathy of Ellenboro; mother, Darlene Buff Robertson and husband, David of Traveler’s Rest, SC; brother, Jeffrey Silver and wife, Angie of Landrum, SC; sister Tia Holtzclaw and husband, Billy of Rutherfordton; mother in-law, Glennette Wood of Rutherfordton; aunt, Janis Durnil and husband, Donald of Norfolk, VA; grandfather, James Hill, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Rutherfordton; and many other loving family members. 
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Crestview Baptist Church with Brother Dwayne Hunt officiating. Entombment will take place at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 16.

Worth W. Burgess
Worth W. Burgess, age 85, of Ellenboro, NC, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Worth was born November 22, 1927, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late Roscoe William Burgess and Laura Jane Radford Burgess. He served during World War II and was a veteran of the US Army. He worked in textiles most of his life and enjoyed hunting and going to flea markets and auctions.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Sam Burgess, Grover Burgess, Harold Dean Burgess and Robert Henson Burgess; three sisters, Lilie Vickers, Thelma Tesseniar and Lorene Greene.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Burgess of Ellenboro; two sisters, Betty Rash and Margaret Hodge both of Forest City; two grandchildren, Ashley Schneider, Jeffrey Burgess II and one great granddaughter, Addyson Grace Van Dyke.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Glen Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Caroleen-Avondale-Henrietta Cemetery with Military Honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Matthew Scott Lail
FOREST CITY — Matthew Scott Lail, 19, of South Magnolia Street, Forest City, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center as the result of an auto accident. 
A native of Cleveland County, he was born on October 27, 1993, a son of the late David Wayne Lail and Carol Chisholm Lail Womick and husband, Robert Womick Jr. of Forest CIty. He was employed with the Town of Forest City Parks and Recreation Department and was a 2012 graduate of East Rutherford High School where he played Football. Matthew currently attended Isothermal Community College. He also attended Salem United Methodist Church.
In addition to his father, Matthew is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Albert Ned Lail; his maternal grandfather, Larimer Lane Chisholm. 
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Carol Lail Womick and husband, Robert Womick, Jr.; one step-brother, Robert Womick, III of the home; paternal grandmother, Patricia Lane Lail of Mooresboro; maternal grandparents, Ray and Kathy Schafer of Bostic; step-grandparents, Bob and Glenna Womick of Forest City; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and life-long friends.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Salem United Methodist Church, Bostic with the Rev. Keys Pendleton and Laurie Knoespel officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.

Rose Nell Wyatt
Rose Nell Wyatt, age 88, of Henrietta, NC , died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the Carolina House of Forest City.
Rose was born March 14, 1925, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late P.R. Wyatt and Mattie Tate Wyatt. She worked in textiles most of her life and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Henrietta.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Wyatt and E.B. Wyatt; two sisters, Mary Jane Holland and Wilma Jean Anderson and one niece, Tracy Allison.
Survivors include three nieces, Judy Vickers and husband, Charles of Ellenboro, Betty Millis and husband, Wayne of Forest City and Sheila Wyatt of Caroleen; three nephews, Todd Anderson and wife, Beth of Shelby, Lee Wyatt of Forest City and Hugh Wyatt and wife, Peggy of Rutherfordton; two sister in-laws, Louise Wyatt of Forest City and Katherine Wyatt of Rutherfordton.
