Paul Toney
MOORESBORO — Paul Vernon Toney, 90, died Friday, January 11, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church family life center. McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation service are serving the Toney family

FOREST CITY — Ryan Heath Lovelace, age 46, of Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Harris First Baptist Church. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for the family of Mr. Lovelace. 
Edwin Brooks 
MOORESBORO — James Edwin Brooks, 79, of Mooresboro, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at his residence. 
A native of Cleveland County, he was born December 18, 1933, a son of the late Grady Buren and Dorothy Edna Greene Brooks. He was retired from Gardner Electric after 30 years of service. He was a member of Race Path Baptist Church. He was also a founding member of the Ellenboro Fire Department serving over 40 years. He served on the Board of Directors for the Ellenboro Fire Department for over 30 years and was the former fire chief.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Toney Brooks; one son, Danny Brooks and wife, Kathy of Mooresboro; one daughter, Lynn Hoppes and husband, Shannon of Ellenboro; one brother, Grady Brooks and wife, Cindy of Ellenboro; four grandchildren, Ashely Brooks, Casey Brooks, Matthew McDaniel, Brooke McDaniel; three step grandchildren; Christy Jordan, Travis Reep, Keltcie Hoppes; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Race Path Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Cooper, Rev. Lance Scarlette and Rev. John Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.

Rev. Lonnie Woodrow “Junior” Evans
Rev. Lonnie Woodrow “Junior” Evans, age 53, husband of Patricia Millwood Evans of 179 Thermal Dr. Forest City, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Junior was a native of Macon County; he was an ordained Holiness minister having served at Open Door Ministries, Little White Country Church, Rutherfordton Holiness Church and New Beginnings of Aikens, SC; he was also the director for Storehouse Pantry LLC. Junior was a man of many talents, formerly working as a truck driver, logger, a state CDL license examiner for Isothermal Community College and a veteran of the US Army.
Preceding him in death are his first wife Jan Dalyn Duncan Evans; parents Lonnie Woodrow Evans Sr. and his mother Rachel Laura Swafford Evans. 
Left to cherish his memory; in addition to his wife Pat; son and daughter in law Harley Jay and Carrie Evans and their daughter Hailey Rose Dalyn Evans of Graniteville, SC; step daughter and son in law Amy and Jim Torvinen and their children Leaana and John Thomas; step son and daughter in law Jason and Angie Phillips and their children Bryson Wayne, Parker Reid and Kinley Dawn; sisters, Pauline Gibson Leach and husband Tom, Marilyn Evans Conner and Husband George of Rutherfordton; Bonnie Evans Chapman and husband Dennis of Flagler

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Jack Crain, Rev. Doug Carpenter and Rev. Jonathan Randall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-6 PM Saturday at Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church. The family will be at the home of Marilyn Conner, 221 Rucker Rd Rutherfordton, NC 28139.

Joseph Mike “J.R.” Roach
Joseph Mike “J.R.” Roach, age 47, of Island Ford Road, Forest City, NC, died Thursday, January 10, 2013, due to an auto accident.
J.R. was born December 30, 1965, in Rutherford County, NC to Tommy Mac Roach and Shirley Ann Dills Roach. J.R. was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1983, and worked as a truck driver. He also spent several years as a Reserve Deputy for the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department and was member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a faithful member of Danieltown Baptist Church. J.R. was an outgoing person who enjoyed visiting with people and also loved to visit at the Magnolia House. He was also a horse enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Bob Dills.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Martha Paulet Roach; one daughter, Tiffany Roach; one son, Tyler Roach, both of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Randy Roach and wife, Janet and Johnny Roach and wife, Wanda, all of Rutherfordton; two sisters, Sandra Parris and husband, Norman and Brenda McFarland and husband, Danny, also of Rutherfordton; one aunt, Dorothy Dills of Harris. He is also survived by four grandchildren which includes, Autumn Ramsey; three step-children, Shanna Ramsey, Deidre Ramsey, Concepcion Mendoza; one step-grandchild, Jamaica Ramsey and many nieces and nephews.  
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Danieltown Baptist Church with Reverend Creighton Lovelace officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. A private burial will take place on a later date.

Margaret Judith Lancaster
Margaret Judith Lancaster, 70, of Woodbridge, VA passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012. 
She was born to the late Marvin and Fannie Allen, April 4, 1942, in Spindale, NC. She was the last of nine siblings to pass, and will be joining her late husband, Bill Lancaster and eldest daughter, Tammy Lancaster in Heaven. 
She is survived by her children, Tina Miller, Billy Lancaster and Ginger LaSalle; grandchildren, Christopher, Maggie, Tiffany, Tyler, Heather, Daniel, Kayleigh and Madison and great-grandchildren, Liam and Wyatt.
Arrangements were made by Miller Funeral Home.
