MOORESBORO— Irma Jeanette Beason Fox, of Mooresboro, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at McKinney-Landreth and Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service and at other times at the home of Judy Greene, Griffin Road, Mooresboro. A celebration of her life will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Trinity Baptist Church Playground Fund, 746 Trinity Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114 or Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150. Elinor Billingsley Bailey
Elinor Billingsley Bailey, 80, of Ellenboro-Henrietta Road, Ellenboro, died Monday, February 24, 2014 at Hospice House of Forest City. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Frank T. Billingsley and Clara Conder Billingsley and widow of the late Bobby K. Bailey. Mrs. Bailey was retired from PPG Industries, Shelby; a homemaker, and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was also pre-deceased by a brother, Wallace Billingsley and a nephew, John Billingsley.
Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Bailey of Ellenboro; sons, Lynn Bailey of Ellenboro and Harold Bailey and wife Melissa, of Ellenboro; brothers, Horace Billingsley and wife Martha of Ellenboro, and Bob Billingsley and wife Anne of Bostic; grandchildren, Ashley Martin and husband Brian, Candace Bailey, Whitney Bailey, C.J. Lowe, Nick Lovelace and wife Christina, Tyler Lovelace and Fiancée Ashley Lawson, and Cory Lovelace; great grandchildren, Christopher and Noah Lovelace, Nevaeh and Jazmyn Moore, Lincoln Martin, Alexa and Ivey Lawson and also a number of nieces and nephews.
A special note of thanks to her caregivers, Joan Lavender, Shelley Wilson, Dawn Amos, and Terri Jackson and also Hospice of Rutherford County.
Funeral services will be held 4 pm Saturday, March 1, 2014 in the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Sepaugh and Rev. Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:30 until 4 pm Saturday in the sanctuary of the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Edley Martin Canipe, 94, of Lattimore, formerly of Lawndale, passed away Tuesday February 25, 2014 at Willow Ridge Nursing Home in Rutherfordton.
Born October 18, 1919 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Jasper Suson Canipe and Leila Smith Canipe. He worked for PPG, the saw mill as a thrasher, and retired from Cleveland Mills and was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Wendell Canipe, son-in-law, Joe Mauney, one granddaughter, Christine Appleman, two brothers, Marvin Canipe and Hughes Canipe, and five sisters, Blanche Towery, Rena Johnson, Vergie Bridges, Vassey Johnson, Iris Cook, and Little Ivey.
Survivors include his wife of seventy five years, Daphine McNeilly Canipe, two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell & Gail Canipe of Ellenboro and Charles & Gail Canipe of Shelby, one daughter, Helen Mauney, eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Stamey Funeral Home
The funeral service will be Friday at 2:00PM at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Court Greene and Jim Kilby officiating.
Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
