Charles Edward Dugger, Sr.
MARION, NC — Charles Edward Dugger, Sr., died Saturday, March 23, 2013. Visitation will be from 1 until 2:30 p.m., Tuesday at New Manna Baptist Church in Marion. Funeral services will follow at 2:30. Crowe’s mortuary is assisting the family.
 
George Harrison
RUTHERFORDTON — George Harrison, age 66, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013. A memorial service will be held Thursday, at 6 p.m. at Ulysses D. Miller Funeral Services Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Ulysses D. Miller Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
 
Hilda McMahan Campbell
Hilda McMahan Campbell, age 88, of Forest City, NC, died Sunday, March 24,
2013, at Oak Grove Health Care Center.
Hilda was a member of First Baptist Church of Forest City. She was the daughter of the late J. L. McMahan and Abi McMahan. She was the widow of the late James B. Campbell.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Campbell and Jim Campbell; two sisters, Alice Walker and Elaine Armstrong; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the service at McMahan's. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, with Reverend Dr. Barry Keys officiating. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City, NC.  
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.

Joann Lara
Joann Lara, age 76, of Charlotte, NC, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Charlotte, NC.
She was the daughter of the late Earl and Nelle Smith. Joann was a native of Rutherford County.
Survivors include one brother, Tim L. Smith of Rutherfordton, NC.
At Joann's request there will not be any formal ceremony.
Arrangements are being handled by McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Keith Flack
RUTHERFORDTON — Virgil "Keith" Flack, age 54, husband of 23 years to Beth Owensby Flack of 1229 Piney Knob Road, went to be with his Lord Monday, March 25, 2013, at Rutherford Hospital.
Keith was a native of Rutherford County and son of Betty Jean Sisk Flack of Union Mills and the late Pete Flack. He was employed at Broyhill Furniture for 25 years and Ethan Allen for 10 years. He was a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and was over the brotherhood.
In addition to his wife and mother, Keith is survived by his daughter, Nicole Flack of the home; two brothers, Peter Jason Flack, Jr. and Tracy Flack, both of Union Mills.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Piney Knob Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Brown, Rev. Wayne Stafford, Rev. Paul Nelon and Rev. Rick Wall officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Piney Knob Baptist Church.

Leon Dotson
Leon Dotson, age 73, of Oakridge Drive, Forest City, NC, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
Leon was born November 10, 1939, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late Floyd Melvin Dotson and Nell Melton Dotson. He was a graduate of Cool Springs High School, class of 1958 and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He worked in financial management most of his life, having worked for Northwestern Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. He also was a warehouse manager for A & E Products for several years. He was a Master Mason and a member of the Cliffside Masonic Lodge #460. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed working with the physically and mentally challenged youth. He also enjoyed playing golf.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Clay Dotson and Robert Melvin Dotson.
Survivors include his son, Gregory Dotson and wife, Kally of Rutherfordton; one brother, Jerry H. Dotson and wife, Inez of Forest City; two grandchildren, Madison Dotson and Morgan Dotson and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall of Forest City. A private service will be held on a later date.

Elizabeth Keller Keeter
Elizabeth Keller Keeter, age 95, of Lake Lure, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Broadmore Assisted Living in Bristol Tennessee.  
She was a native of Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late D.C. and Fannie Dalton Keller. Elizabeth was a member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church where she was very active as her health allowed. She was also active in other civic organizations. 
She was the widow of Clyde Wallace Keeter Sr. and was preceded in death by brothers Clarence and Henry Keller and sister Bertha Keller DuBose.
She is survived by one son, Clyde W. Keeter, Jr. and wife, Jane of Bristol, TN; grandchildren, Brad Keeter and wife, Jennifer of Charlotte and Matthew Keeter and wife Hollie of Woodstock GA; great grandchildren, Thomas, Sarah, Graham and Reid; two sisters, Mildred Fraser of Burlington, NC and Betty Freeman of Marion, NC; two brothers, William Keller and wife, Malee of Lake Lure, and Jack Keller of Lake Lure; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Chimney Rock Baptist Cemetery at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013, with Rev. Gene Daggerhart officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chimney Rock Baptist Church, P.O. Box 157, Lake Lure NC 28746.

Donald L. Waters
Donald L. Waters, age 67, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Hospice House of Rutherford County. 
A native of Rutherford County he was the son of the late Dan and Nellie Waters. He was a member of Sandy Level Baptist Church and had worked in furniture plants and did logging.  
He was preceded in death by a brother Sherman Waters.
He is survived by his wife, Lora S. Waters; one daughter, Kathy Sloan of Belmont, NC; three sons, 
Randy Waters of Rutherfordton, Donnie Waters of Concord, NC, and Gene Waters of  Belmont, NC; four sisters, Dorothy Hudgins and husband, Robert of Rutherfordton, Carolyn Bright and husband, Gary of  Spindale, Diane Pruitt and husband, Charlie of Bostic, and Sarah Reed and husband, Bobby of Rutherfordton; sister-in-law, Wanda Waters; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Sandy Level Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow in the church at 2 p.m., with Rev. Robert Hensley and Rev. Robert Toney officiating. Burial will be in church cemetery.
