RUTHERFORDTON — Randy Huntley, age 58, died Sunday, March 17, 2013. The funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., Thursday. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City, NC. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.
William Whiteside Sr.
MARION — William Harrison “Bill” Whiteside Sr., age 73, died Saturday, March 16, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 1166, Marion, NC 28752.
Jonas Lane, age 84, of Rutherfordton, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Adam and Julie McEntire Lane. Jonas had retired from Spindale Mills and was a member of Piney Knob Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Haynes Lane and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2013, at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Piney Knob Baptist Church at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, with Rev. Mike Brown, Rev. Rick Wall and Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Clarence Earl Tomblin
RUTHERFORDTON, NC — Mr. Clarence Earl Tomblin, age 85, of Primrose Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013, while being cared for at Hospice House in Forest City.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of Arthur and Blanche Tomblin, a former employee of Duke Energy and was a member of First Baptist Church of Spindale.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Walker Tomblin; their children, David Tomblin and wife, Jane, Arthur Tomblin and wife, Debbie, Andy Tomblin and wife, Stephanie, Mary Rochester and husband, Don, Katie Haskins and husband, Justin, Robin Hutchins and husband, Joe; sisters, Naomi McCraw, Mildred Morrow, Frances Mann; grandchildren, Scott Tomblin, Sherry Trudnak, Neal Tomblin, Robert Tomblin, Logan Haskins, Laura Haskins, Brooke Tomblin, Madison Tomblin, Lydia Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Marcus McCabe, Luke Hutchins, Sam Hutchins, Jenny Hutchins; great grandchildren, Madison Trudnak, Isabel Trudnak, Ava Trudnak, Haylie Tomblin, Tanner Hutchins, Alexis Fowler, Noah Garrett and Nickolas Fowler.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Spindale First Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Evans and Rev. Tom Frady officiating. Concluding services will be held at Oak Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Crowe’s Mortuary.

James Craig Allen
James Craig Allen, age 76, of Crestview Drive, Forest City, NC, died March 18, 2013, at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
James was born May 22, 1936, in Greenville County, SC, to the late Andy Shuford Allen and Annie Eulalia Price Allen. He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country during the Korean War. He owned and operated Allen’s Wheel Alignment Shop for many years and also worked for the Rutherford County Department of Transportation as a mechanic. James was a longtime member of Grey’s Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed all kinds of woodworking and loved to build things with his hands.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca June Dotson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Jean Smith Allen; one daughter, Sharon Lowery and husband, Phil of Rutherfordton; one sister, Lavada Wall of Shiloh; two grandchildren, Brandy Greene Morris and husband, Shane, and James Neil Lowery; three great grandchildren, Destiny Love Greene, Hayden McKenzie Burns and Kelsey Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Grey’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Alvin Allen, Reverend John Godfrey and Reverend Eugene Passmore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
