Gloria Jean Sherrill
FOREST CITY — Gloria Jean Sherrill, age 65, died Monday, December 17, 2012. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Thompson's Mortuary and Chapel, Inc. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3 until 5 p.m. at Thompson's Mortuary.

RUTHERFORDTON — H. Ronald Greene, 79, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. 336, Forest City NC 28043. McMahan's Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangments.
Jacqueline Diane Cain Maybin
ELLENBORO - Jacqueline “Jackie” Diane Cain Maybin, 42, of Boss Moore Road, Ellenboro, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County.
A native of Canton, OH, she was born on June 17, 1970, a daughter of Thomas Ray Cain and Vickie Alexander King. She was a waitress and member of Bible Tabernacle Church of Ruth.
She is preceded in death by one sister, Shawnee Cain; and her grandparents, Oliver and Leola Alexander.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her step-father, Luther King; two sons, Michael Maybin and Timothy Maybin of Hendersonville; two brothers, Tommy Cain of Florida and Oliver King and wife Shawn of Forest City; two sisters, Racheal Cain and Johnny Robertson of Asheville and Sara Cash and husband Brian of Ellenboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Bible Tabernacle Church, 207 U.S. Highway 64, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 until 3 p.m.

Floyd Wade Lovelace, Sr.
Floyd Wade Lovelace, Sr., age 60, of Forest City, NC, died Monday, December 17, 2012, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Floyd was born March 16, 1952, in Rutherford County, NC to the late Floyd W. Lovelace and Sarah Jane Hutchins Lovelace. He worked in textiles most of his life and enjoyed finding and selling junk.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Rhonda Kay Waters Lovelace and one son, Floyd Wade Lovelace, Jr.
Survivors include his daughter, Pamela Lovelace; one son, Robbie Lovelace both of Forest City; two sisters, Barbara Ann Holland and husband, Michael of Forest City and Teresa Chandler and husband, David of Shelby, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sarah Holt, Amanda Holt, Sophia Lovelace, Jonathan Lovelace, Justin Lovelace, Jason Lovelace and Ashlyn Lovelace; three nephews and two nieces.
Memorial services will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. The family will be receiving friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Linda Motter Hopkins
FOREST CITY — Linda Motter Hopkins, 59, of Island Ford Road, Forest City, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
A native of Lindon, NJ, she was born on March 2, 1953, a daughter of the late Dolores Bishop. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Hopkins. She is survived by her sons, Michael Blackwood of Chesnee and Kevin Blackwood of Texas; one daughter, Lori Suhy of Rutherfordton; two brothers, Steve Motter and David Motter, both of Spartanburg; her step-father, Henry Bishop of Forest City; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012, at the A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

William L. Vetter
William L. Vetter, 88, passed away December 16, 2012 in Orange, Calif.
He was an only child and born in Duluth Michigan on October 3, 1924. He was a son of the late Willard and Helen Vetter of Elmira, New York.
Surviving are his sons, William, Richard and Robert; a daughter Cynthia Fuentes; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his wife Frances Searcy Vetter of 38 years of marriage from Lake Lure, NC.
He proudly served in the Marine Corps in WWII and graduated from Delhi College in New York. He was a machine tool inspector for most of his life and retired from Baker Oil & Tools in Commerce.
The Funeral service will be held at McMahan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2012, with Rev. Dean Baughn officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m., Saturday prior to the service at McMahan’s. Interment will be at Cane Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake Lure with Military honors provided by Rutherford County Honor Guard.
