BOSTIC— Elizabeth A. Melton, age 77, of Bostic, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Saturday at Concord Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, 720 Old US Hwy 74, Bostic, NC 28018. Washburn and Dorsey Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

MOORESBORO— Randy J. McCraw, age 51, of Mooresboro, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014. No formal services are planned at this time. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.

CHERRYVILLE— Virginia Beheler Low, age 58, of Cherryville and formerly of Rutherford County, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Kistler's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at The Padgett and King Mortuary. The Padgett and King Mortuary is serving the family.
Mary Ann Briscoe Anthony
Mary Ann Briscoe Anthony, age 76, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Rutherford Regional Medical Center .
She was a native of Rutherford County and a member of Oak Springs Baptist Church. Mary Ann was the daughter of the late David Briscoe and the late Bebe Briscoe. She was the owner and operator of Mary Ann's Hair Styling.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh Anthony; three daughters, Gina L. Owens and her husband Steve, Kimberly Ann Ritter and Heather Larsen; three sisters, Martha Wray Thomas, Peggy Briscoe and Deborah Lynn Lineberger; one brother, Dan Briscoe; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, Friday prior to the service at McMahan's Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at McMahan's Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 21, 2014 with Rev. Michael Snelgrove and Rev. Tom Frady officiating. Ruth Sheats Coldren
Ruth Sheats Coldren, age 91 of Forest City died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born August 23, 1922 in Venango County, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Milford and Gladys Davis Sheats and worked in hospitals as a Nurses Aid. She was the widow of Clifford Leroy Coldren. Ruth also worked with her late husband in the television repair service as a bookkeeper, first at Wilcox-Hardy in Jensen, Florida and later when they operated Cliff's TV Repair Service in Pompano Beach, Florida. She was also an avid animal lover and cared for many animals in her lifetime.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Coldren and wife Meredith of Norfolk, Virginia, Dennis Coldren and wife Kathy of Forest City. There are also five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A service from the graveside will be held at two o'clock Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Ron Setzer officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Community Pet Center, 578 Laurel Hill Drive, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
