GWU holding call for next play

The Gardner-Webb University School of Performing and Visual Arts is extending an open invitation for auditions for the spring production “Urinetown the Musical.” Auditions for singers, dancers, and actors will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 5-6 with callbacks on Dec. 7.

“Urinetown the Musical” is a comical satire that can be described as witty, intelligent, funny, and poignant. Dr. Chris Nelson, assistant professor of Theatre at Gardner-Webb, will direct the production. Performance dates are currently scheduled for Feb. 13-17, 2013.

Times are available in ten-minute slots between 5:00 and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Times are available on a first come, first serve basis. Participants should bring 16 bars of a song for piano, preferably from musical theatre, and a 30-60 second monologue. Movement (dance) auditions will take place at callbacks.
