Forest City employees will under evaluations
All employees of the Town of Forest City will receive performance evaluations in 2013, Town Council agreed Monday night during their regular business meeting.
City Manager John Condrey said three of the town's departments — fire, police and inspection — have undergone evaluations in the past, but the others have not. All employees will be evaluated this year.
Just one month and five days into 2013, the Town of Forest City received its calendar dates for the 2013-2014 fiscal year process. Finance Officer Julie Scherer said the goal is to have the budget presented to Council on May 20.
Also, Council agreed to spend $15,500 to make repairs to the main building at Florence Mill. The roof will receive repairs and the old cooling unit will be removed from the roof. Money for the repairs will come from the town's general fund.
Condrey said the town needs to be more aggressive in keeping the building stabilized and in good condition for future development.
The board re-appointed Robert Wolf and Pamela Greene to the Forest City Housing Authority.
Council also agreed to follow the town records retention and disposition schedule presented by Town Clerk Emily Sain.
