Two incarcerated for possession of marijuana and Xanax

Forest City officers arrest two West Virginia residents on drug charges

On Saturday evening, patrol officers with the Forest City Police Department conducted a vehicle stop of a 2005 Toyota Corolla driven by Emanuel Drake Summerbell, 20, of Sixth Street North in St. Albans, W.V., and occupied by Patrick Lee Oliver, 17, of Gravely Drive in Nitro, W.V.

During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered and seized one pound and one ounce of marijuana, 28 dosage units of Xanax and various drug paraphernalia.

"I would like to commend Lt. James Hoppes and two of his patrol officers, Shawn Keeter and Sean Brooks, for their operational awareness and investigative skills they displayed in this case," Forest City Police Chief Jay Jackson said.

Summerbell was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, possession of a schedule four controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of selling and possessing a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to signal. He received a $45,000 secured bond for his charges.

Oliver was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver, possession of a schedule four controlled substance with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $45,000 secured bond for his charges.

Summerbell and Oliver were placed in the custody of the Rutherford County jail.

"The actions of the officers resulted in the arrest of two suspects and a large quantity of controlled substances being taken off of the streets," Jackson said.
