Former RRHS VP named to post at McDowell Hospital

The former Vice President of Marketing and Planning at Rutherford Regional Medical System has been named to a similar post at McDowell Hospital.

On Friday, Karen Moore was named the Vice President of Marketing and Community Relations for McDowell Hospital in Marion. She had served in the post on an interim basis prior to being elevated to the regular position.

Moore also previously worked in the Regional Strategic Planning and Marketing department at Mission Health.

“I am delighted to be working with such a talented and dedicated leadership team here at McDowell Hospital. Their passion for the patients and community we serve is contagious, and it’s a pleasure to be collaborating with them in this new role,” Moore said, in a statement. “I look forward to working with the people of McDowell County and helping to increase the awareness of our wonderful health services.”

Moore has worked in marketing and communications for the last 24 years and her current position will include creating brand messaging and implementation of marketing strategies for McDowell Hospital.

She is a wonderful addition to our senior leadership team,” said Lynn Boggs, RN, MSN, MBA, FACHE, President and CEO of McDowell Hospital. “With her extensive knowledge in the health care field, we are confident she will be able to take our strategic plans to the next level as we continue to deliver excellent care to the communities of McDowell and surrounding counties.”

Moore has served on the Board of Directors for a number of organizations, including Carolina Society for Training and Development and Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society.
