Final presidential candidate interview today
The final Isothermal Community College presidential candidate to “Meet and Greet” the public will be Kristi Snuggs.
The event is at 2:30 p.m. today in the Foundation of Isothermal.
Snuggs will have an opportunity to introduce herself to staff, employees, search committee members and the public before she takes questions from the audience and has an opportunity to speak individually with the public.
Today marks the sixth presidential candidate interview afterwhich the search committee will brings its findings before the Board of Trustees on March 5.
A new president of the college is expected to be announced sometime in March.
Snuggs is the vice president of Instruction at Edgecombe Community College in Tarboro. She has served in that capacity since 2005. Prior to that, she spent four years in the North Carolina Community College System office in Raleigh as an educational consultant on Early Childhood, Teacher Education and Public Services Techniologies.
She was the head of the Early Childhood Education program and director of the Child Development Center at Montgomery Community College in Troy from 1994 to 2001. Prior to that, she taught in the Adult High School and early Childhood programs at Stanly Community College.
Snuggs earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership at East Carolina University; a M.A. in child and family development/child psychology at Appalachian State University; and a B.S. in pre-professional biology and chemistry, also at Appalachian State University. She lives in Wendell.
