Two Ellenboro men are in the Rutherford County Detention Facility following an arrest at 3:17 a.m. Thursday in Ellenboro.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a breaking and entering in progress call in the area of North Glenn Street and Heigh Street in the Ellenboro Community.

The caller was able to give Rutherford County Communications a description of the suspect vehicle, a truck, and the direction of travel, when the vehicle left.

While enroute to the call, Deputy Andrew Weathers stopped a truck, occupied by two males, matching the suspect vehicle.

Cpl. Stephen Ellis and Sgt. Mike Davis responded to the scene and began the investigation.

The investigation revealed that the back door of the 211 Heigh Street was partially open and a window had been busted out.

The owner of the residence was able to give a description of items that had been taken. These items were later recovered and returned to the owner.

Evidence from the breaking and entering was located in the truck in which Weathers had stopped, and the occupants were placed under arrest.

Charged in the incident are Michael Albert Littlejohn, 23, of Tisdale Street Ext. in Ellenboro and Maurice Watkins, 32, of Webb Church Road in Ellenboro.

They are each charged with one count felony breaking and/or entering and one count felony larceny after break/enter. They are in jail under $30,000 bonds.
