Second arrest made in Robinson homicide case
A second arrest has been made in the April 2012 homicide case of Antonituis “Buddy” Robinson.
Marcavus Rynell Carson, 21, of Rutherfordton was arrested on Friday and is in the Rutherford County Detention Facility, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department.
The sheriff’s department, the State Bureau of Investigation and the District Attorney’ Office, have been working on the case since it occurred 13 months ago outside of Spindale.
Robinson was killed on April 10, 2010 at an abandoned residence at 909 Old Ross Road, Forest City, during an illegal drug transaction. He died of multiple gun shot wounds.
Ten days after the murder, the sheriff’s department made the first arrest in the case.
Napolean Brian Edgerton, 26, aka “Nike” was arrested on a murder warrant on April 20, 2012. Also from Rutherfordton, he remains in the Rutherford County Detention Facility under an $80,000 bond.
Robinson lived in Bostic, was a football star at East Rutherford High School, graduated from REaCH High School and also played football at Western Carolina University.
Robinson’s sister, Genease Hannon said Friday afternoon she and Robinson’s mother, Mary Cantrell,are pleased with the additional arrest.
