Shooting suspect arrested in South Carolina

A Rutherford County man has been arrested in South Carolina in connection with a shooting event.

According to a report from the Rutherford County Sheriff's department, Earl Paul Bowers was arrested Thursday morning in Cherokee County, SC.

Bowers is a suspect in a shooting incident that occurred late Wednesday night on Old Caroleen Road in Forest City.

Detectives have secured warrants of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill  inflicting serious injury and second-degree trespass.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's department is in the process of extraditing Bowers back to Rutherford County.
