Father and son arrested in kidnapping, assault
Cecil Lee Henson and Cecil Lee Henson Jr. were arrested on Thursday and Friday, respectively, on warrants for assault and battery, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats and first-degree kidnapping.
On Thursday, Rutherford County Sheriff's Deputy Jordan Chapman responded to a reported kidnapping and assault at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
At the scene Chapman was met by Don Joseph Buff, who reported that he was held against his will Wednesday night into Thursday morning, according to the police report.
During this time Buff advised he was repeatedly assaulted by two subjects with their hands and knives.
Buff told Chapman that he escaped on Thursday morning and made it to Rutherford Regional, where he was treated for his injuries and later released.
The investigation revealed that the suspects involved in the assault were Henson and Henson Jr.
After collecting sufficient information during the course of their investigation, deputies secured a search warrant for the residence of Henson on Clarence Henson Road in Rutherfordton.
According to the police report, on Thursday evening detectives and patrol officers with the Sheriff's Office executed the search warrant and recovered evidence pertaining to the crimes reported by Buff.
While serving the search warrant officers arrested Henson and transported him to the Rutherford County Detention Facility.
He was placed under a combined bond of $165,000 and charged with assault and battery, communicating threats, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and first-degree kidnapping. He was able to make bond on Friday.
Deputies located and arrested Henson Jr. on Friday afternoon and transported him to the Detention Facility where he remains under a $108,000 secured bond for charges of assault and battery, assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats and first-degree kidnapping.
