Police make arrest in shooting
A Forest City man was arrested in connection to a shooting Monday.
According to the Forest City Police Department, William Leon Boykins Jr. 24, shot into a 2004 Ford Explorer occupied by three victims near the intersection of West Spruce Street and McArthur Street in Forest City.
None of the vehicle occupants were injured in the shooting.
Forest City Police Officers were able to locate Boykins on Gypsy Street in possession of a 22-caliber rifle.
Boykins was arrested and charged with one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied property, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm in the city limits, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Boykins was placed under a $201,000.00 secured bond and placed in custody of the Rutherford County Jail.
