Budget public hearings in Bostic and Ruth

RUTH — Town Commissioners in Ruth are expected to adopt the proposed 2014-15 fiscal year budget when it meets at 5 p.m. Monday at  town hall. The adoption will follow a public hearing on the budget.

There is no tax increase recommended.

The tax rate is $.26 per $100 property valuation.

BOSTIC — Bostic Town Council will adopt its 2014-15 fiscal year budget when it meets at 6 p.m. Monday. The proposed budget reflects no tax increase.

The tax rate is $.26 per $100 property valuation. 

The total budget is $760,051 and the public will have an opportunity to address the budget during a public hearing at the beginning of the meeting.  

Council will  discuss a proposed increase in the electric rates due to an increase to the Town. The increase will be either 3 percent  or 4.3 percent.
