Lake Lure Town Council approved several requests and recommendations when it met Tuesday night at the municipal center for its regular business meeting.

Jim Proctor, former mayor of Lake Lure, has authored his first book published by Arcadia Publishing it its "Images of America." The book includes more than 200 vintage images of Lake Lure.
