Fire victims receiving help today at Element Church

The Sandy Mush family who lost their home to fire Thursday afternoon is receiving help today from their church family, The Element Church.

Derek and Jennie Reynolds and their children, Kanean Smart,4, Adrian Reynolds,3,and Jaylee, 1, lost everything in the fire and had no insurance on the contents.

The church is open from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. today to receive collecting shoes, clothes, Walmart gift cards and other items for the family today. The church is located off South Broadway Street in Forest City.

The family received immediate emergency shelter from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire has not been positively identified but Sandy Mush Fire Chief William Clayton says it apparently started in a bedroom of the house and could have been an electrical fire. Rutherford County Fire Marshal Roger Hollifield is conducting the fire investigation.

The church sent the following list of items needed: boys clothes in size 4T and size 10 shoes. Jaylee,1,2T clothes, 7 in shoes and size 5 diapers; Jennie needs Xl shirts, size 15 pants and size 8 shoes; Derrick wears size 2X shirts, 40 pants and size 10 shoes.
